This is the latest edition of the Sports Media Weekly podcast that I co-host with Sports Media Journal’s Keith Thibault.
We discuss the beginning of the NFL Network Thursday Night Football schedule and the network’s continuing dispute with Time Warner Cable. In addition, we banter back and forth on whether there can be a true alternative to ESPN. And we talk about what properties the league-owned networks will keep for themselves in the future and whether they’ll take postseason games from the over the air networks. We round out the first segment with a discussion on the latest ESPN 30 for 30 documentary on Jimmy The Greek.
Then we talk with NESN’s Vice President of Programming and Executive Producer Joel Feld about his efforts to develop original series on the channel, the channel’s partnership with the Boston Bruins and Boston Red Sox, possible streaming of games and my repeated criticisms of Dirty Water TV (here and here).
